There is no denying that electric scooters will be the future of urban commute, at least for short distances! They make it easier to maneuver through traffic and find parking while helping you reduce your carbon footprint – now that is all a win-win isn’t it? Now, what if your electric scooter could also be your adventure buddy and conquer all kinds of terrains with you? Because it actually can – say hello to Phat Scooter’s latest HD electric scooter! Think of it as the child of your electric bike and an electric scooter ATV.
This compact scooter is a discreet mean machine and can travel up to 20MPH. It can also go 30+ miles on a single charge cycle so it is perfect for those looking for an alternative to public transport post-pandemic but are not yet ready for an electric car. The HD electric scooter comes equipped with a powerful motor that can take on hills with ease, and the front + rear suspensions system provides a smooth ride at any speed as well as on any terrain. The tall handlebars are a smart design element because they enable you to stand up with adequate balance and support while you ride. The seat also has extra support to make the ride on tricky terrains as comfortable as possible. The most impressive and unique part about this scooter is its wide wheels which increase the stability and give the rider better balance. Unlike many other small scooters, the E-scooter electric scooter lets you ride anywhere – cement, asphalt, grass, dirt, or sand. Now only if it had snow tires, every New Yorker would get this!
Scooters have also fitted it with a new and improved battery which charges in four to six hours with a standard outlet. You can pick from a range of colors and customization options to truly make this scooter a part of your everyday life – I guess it is safe to say that this scooter will become your ride or die!
Generally speaking, e-bikes are bicycles with a battery-powered “assist” that comes via pedaling and, in some cases, a throttle. When you push the pedals on a pedal-assist e-bike, a small motor engages and gives you a boost, so you can zip up hills and cruise over tough terrain without gassing yourself.
The harder you pedal, the bigger the boost, the faster you’ll ride—to a point. Electric bicycles let you hum along at a brisk clip, but they aren’t motorcycles. You’ll never hammer down the road at 45 mph. The motor is governed to stop propelling you further when you hit 20 to 28 miles per hour, depending on the bike. So you’ll save time on your commute (I shave about three minutes off a five-mile trip) but still enjoy the scenery.
Getting an electric motorbike can dramatically increase how often you ride, according to a survey of nearly 1,800 e-bike owners in North America. Beforehand, 55 percent of respondents said they rode daily or weekly. After buying an e-bike, that number soared to 91 percent. It makes sense: Even if you’re super fit, you still get tired (likely from training or racing) and remounting your bike can feel like a chore. If you have an e-bike, you can continue riding while giving your knackered legs a bit of a break. You can also go faster, which makes biking for longer trips more attractive, even when you’re pressed for time.
For those who aren’t frequent riders, e-bikes open up a whole new world. While you may not be conditioned to ride 5-10 miles at a time, you can cover those distances easily with an electric assist, which is a great way to build endurance and confidence. That same survey found that 94 percent of non-cyclists rode daily or weekly after getting an e-bike.
Name a type of riding, and there’s an e-bike for that. If you have zero interest in an electric road bike, you may find yourself head over heels for a high-capacity e-cargo bike that can haul 400 pounds of stuff while still cruising at a cool 15 mph. E-bikes are available in fat, cargo, commuter, recreational, hardtail, full-suspension mountain, and even performance road bike styles. For proof, here are a dozen e-bikes we love for every type of cyclist.
“People are buying electric bicycles as a way to reduce car trips,” Benjamin says. The data backs him up: 28 percent of survey respondents said they bought an e-bike specifically to replace driving a car. And many other reasons buyers listed for wanting an e-bike—including carrying cargo and kids, avoiding parking and traffic, and environmental concerns—also indicate a desire to get out from behind the wheel. Plus, you don’t need to change clothes or clean up when you arrive at your destination, because you don’t have to work up as much of a sweat.
Consider, too, that more than half of all driving trips are shorter than 10 miles, with some surveys reporting that the average single trip amounts to just 5.95 miles. That’s a no-brainer distance to cover by e-bike. In fact, the survey found that owners replaced 46 percent of their car commutes and 30 percent of their driving errands with e-bike rides. All you need is a great commuter bag to carry your stuff, and you’re set.

Common Uses and Features of Blind Pipe Flanges |

Blinds are flanges without a center bore (hole or opening) and are available in both Raised Face (RF) and Flat Face (FF) styles. While most flange types create a connection point that allows the flow of liquid, gas, or air, blind flanges are used to seal the end of a piping system and prevent flow. Blind flanges may be used when testing pipe pressure, to create an access point in a piping system, to temporarily seal a piping system while modifying or repairing the line, or to create a long-term seal to terminate a piping system.
A blind flange is bolted, rather than welded in place. This allows easier access as needed for pipe system upkeep, inspection, or to allow for future expansion. Pairing with a gasket creates a tight seal: The gasket fills the space between the flange faces, which prevents liquid or gas leaks.
How to Choose the Right Blind Flange
Blind pipe flanges may be produced to match bolt hole measurements for slip-on or welding neck flanges, or if needed, can be custom machined to any other specifications. Either way, when purchasing flanges, choose the appropriate flange features, material, dimensions, and class to meet your application needs.
Find the Best Blind Flange Material for the Job
When choosing blind flanges, you must consider the best flange material and dimensions in relation to the piping standards and requirements of your intended application. Generally, your flange material should match the connecting pipe material. The most common blind flange materials are steel and stainless steel.
In many cases, import material is acceptable to save on cost – in these cases, the flanges will still meet all the standards for pressure applications. In instances where domestic flanges are specified, API International manufactures flanges meeting “Buy American” or meeting American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) requirements.
Threaded flanges are joined to pipes by screwing the pipe (which has a male thread, generally NPT per ASME B1.20.1) onto the flange, without seam welds (in certain cases, though, small welds are applied to increase the strength of the connection).
Threaded flanges are available in sizes up to 4 inches and multiple pressure ratings, however, they are used, mostly, small size piping in low pressure and low-temperature applications, like water and air utility services. Threaded flanges are also a mandatory requirement in explosive areas, such as gas stations and plants, as the execution of welded connections in such environments would be dangerous.
A slip-on flange is connected to the pipe or the fittings by two fillet welds, one executed inside and one outside the cavity of the flange. The bore size of a slip-on flange is larger than the outside diameter of the connecting pipe, as the pipe has to slide inside the flange to be connected by the execution of a fillet weld. Slip on flanges are also defined “Hubbed Flanges” and they are easy to recognize due to their slim and compact shape.
Long weld neck flanges (“LWN”) are similar to weld neck flanges, with the exception that the neck (tapered hub) is extended and acts like a boring extension. Long neck flanges are generally used on vessels, columns or barrels. These flange types are available also in the heavy barrel (HB) and equal barrel (E) types.
Socket welding flanges are connected to pipes using a single fillet weld executed on the outer side of the flange (different from the slip-on flange type that requires two welds). According to ASME B31.1, to execute a flanged connection using a socket weld flange, the pipe shall be at first inserted in the socket of the flange until it reaches the bottom of the flange, then it should be lifted by 1.6 mm and finally welded. This gap shall be left to allow proper positioning of the pipe inside the flange socket after the solidification of the weld.
Socket Weld Flanges are used for small-size and high-pressure piping that do not transfer highly corrosive fluids. This due to the fact that these flange types are subject to corrosion in the gap area between the end of the pipe and the shoulder of the socket. Their static strength of socket weld flanges is similar to slip-on flanges’, but their fatigue strength is higher due to the presence of a single, instead of double, fillet weld.
A plate flange is a flat, circular disk that is welded onto the end of a pipe and allows it to be bolted to another pipe. Typically used in fuel and water pipelines, the two flange plates will be bolted together with a gasket in between them. The plate flanges will have bolt holes all around the perimeter and will be used to create junctions, tees and joints.

Getting your product into a new store is hard enough on its own. But once that battle is won, the next one has already arrived. At first glance, you may just want to place your brand among other types of similar products.
However, just because this store aisle looks like the way to go doesn’t necessarily mean it's the best place in the grocery or convenience store for your product to succeed. Understanding how supermarkets are set up is a great way to learn how to improve your products’ chances of making their way into a customer's shopping cart.
Planograms
Whenever consumers look at neatly arranged supermarket shelves, they’re really looking at live planograms. A planogram is a visual representation of product shelving that is used to maximize capacity and sales. Every field sales and marketing team can benefit from using planograms to aim for more profitable product placement.
In addition, planograms make is easy to plan shelf placement and organization across different stores. To learn more about how to use planograms, take a quick look at our “How to use a Planogram” article!
Product Placement Strategy
Supermarkets have a method to their madness when organizing their in-store product placement strategy. Just like you, they know that consumers have a difficult time sticking to their grocery shopping list, no matter how determined they are. This is good for CPG brands because that means your product has the opportunity to choose! Below are some of the clever ways stores place goods to maximize profit.
Cross Merchandising
Cross merchandising is the practice of placing complimentary goods together to grow basket size and drive impulse purchases. This product placement strategy is successful because often when consumers purchase something, they tend to think what else could go well with it.
Popular examples include wine and cheese, pasta and pasta sauce, and solo cups and ping pong balls. If your product goes well with something else in the store, it would be a great idea to bring up co-branding the two goods to the store owner. Not only could this increase the sales of your product, but it shows the store owner that you’re thinking about them too.
"Eye-Level Is Buy-Level"
This phrase is probably associated more with shelf placement than any other. For exactly this reason, the eye-level retail shelving real estate is the most expensive because it’s the most valuable to brands. However, there is even more to this idea. There are a few studies that suggest that similar to reading, we scan stores shelving space from left to right. If you can’t get into the prime, center real estate in a store aisle, learning which side, left or right, works best for your product will help your field teams maximize profits from store product placement and displays.
In-Store Product Placement Best Practices
Now that you know more about how supermarket product placement works, here are three things you can do to improve your in-store performance in 2019.
Negotiating Shelf Placement
Obviously, when you enter a new store, the owner won’t just give you the best shelf placement. Be prepared to explain why your product deserves that real estate you want for it. Remember, nobody knows your product’s strengths better than you do and negotiating with the grocery store owner is the ideal time to highlight those strengths.
A great way to back up your statements is by using data. Retailers want to know how your product will increase their profit margin. Providing evidence to them that your brand can perform as well as or better than your competitors will not only help your chances of entering a new store but of also getting the shelf space you desire. Any information you have concerning revenue, how your product should be displayed and promoted in stores and consumer demographics will go a long way towards helping your product succeed.
Dealing With Slotting Fees
It’s extremely likely that you’ll be faced with slotting fees, up-front costs retailers ask of manufacturers to guarantee them a spot on the shelf. While some big retailers have done away with slotting fees altogether, many of the nation’s grocery giants, big box stores, and convenience stores still require them. (Check out our article on slotting fees here to find out if retailers typically charge fees for your category.)
While slotting fees are certainly a roadblock for many growing brands, suppliers with a good data story can negotiate their way out of them. Here are three ways you might be able to get out of coughing up for your facings:
1. Recognize the role of logistics:
Understand how product arrangement in supermarkets and supply chain management factor into the price of a slotting fee. The more you can reduce the costs associated with stocking your product, the more likely you are to receive shelf placement and have leverage over how much you pay to play.
2. Drive growth through sales and marketing
Retailers need proof that your brand will sell should they decide to carry it. This can be accomplished with documentation of historical performance and a solid plan for how to move products in stores.
3. Prove demand for your brand
What makes your brand stand out? What can your company offer the retailer that others can’t? Show buyers why passing up on your product is a mistake.
Warehouses play a vital role in the overall supply chain. Here, the products are stored, and the orders picked, packed, packaged and labelled for delivery. When done right, customer satisfaction goes up several notches.
Racks are the backbone of the warehouse. By enabling products to be stacked in an organized and efficient manner, the warehouse racks ensure goods in the warehouse are easily accessible for order fulfilment. When the racks function properly, they are an asset to the warehouse, ensuring smooth operation. Any mishap in the racking system can have adverse consequences which will ripple across the entire supply chain.
With the boom in the commercial market, lighting has also found a special place in various establishments. Be it a retail store or a big supermarket, innovative lighting solutions are illuminating them all and helping them to be more productive.
It is a known fact that the designing and interior of a supermarket can highly influence a customer’s purchase decision. However, not many people might know that lighting also has an important role in this. It can have a significant impact on the workplace functionality and overall customer experience.
Lighting is a vital part of a supermarket and therefore it must be utilised in the best way. Today, there are many supermarket lighting solution providers that offer efficient LED lighting solutions like pendant lighting for all commercial needs.

Master Alloys and Alloying Additives Information |

Master alloys and alloying additives are alloy-element concentrates, grain refiners, hardeners, deoxidants, and other agents added to a melt or metal-powder blend to produce a particular alloy, modify a melt, or alter processing characteristics. They are designed to improve processes in metallurgy by refining the final properties of different rare metals. Alloying agents and elements are used as additions to modify or produce alloys in primary metal production melts, foundry melts, and powder metal-blend manufacturing.
Benefits of Master Alloys and Alloying Additives
Master Alloys
A master alloy is a pre-alloyed concentrate or mixture of alloying elements. They are used to add all the major alloying elements in one form to the base metal. For example, a 10% addition of 60% aluminum - 40% vanadium composition master alloy to 90% pure titanium will produce Ti-6Al-4V alloy.
Master alloys are essential for adding small amounts of compounds with large melting point differentials. This is because adding a virgin metal to a melt can be inefficient in terms of energy and metal yield. For example, a small addition of pure copper (1083°C melting point) to a large mass of aluminum (660°C melting point) would require heating all the aluminum above 1083°C. A 50-50 master alloy of copper and aluminum eliminates unnecessary heating of the aluminum, allowing the correct percentage of this alloy to be added to the bulk of aluminum at a much lower temperature.
Master alloys are also the most effective method of introducing controlled levels of rare earth metals to more complex alloy systems. They help to control oxygen content within the alloy, stabilizing metals that would normally oxidize in the atmosphere.
Copper-based master alloys are produced for the brass and copper industry. The range includes alloys such as Copper-Iron, Copper Manganese, Copper Boron and Copper Zirconium.
The common factor among these alloys is that they dissolve better than the corresponding pure metal or metals. Using KBM Affilips copper-boron 2% master alloy is a great method for improving the quality of copper alloys and brasses. Boron is an effective deoxidiser for copper, without the harmful effect of reducing the electrical conductivity.
The element is also highly effective when compared to other deoxidisers such as phosphorus, lithium or magnesium, therefore less boron is needed per kg of oxygen to achieve the same deoxidation effect.
In copper alloys, boron also slows grain growth during heating. In addition, boron facilitates pouring and filling operations. In brasses, boron behaves as a strong grain refiner. It reacts with several elements present in the melt and the products formed are often insoluble compounds dispersed as fine particles through the melt which act as nucleants.
The mechanical properties are increased with boron and the internal soundness of brass castings is improved.
Applications
Major applications of copper boron alloys include:
Deoxidiser for copper.
Grain refiner for brass.
Most of the ferrochrome produced worldwide is used in manufacturing stainless steel. The chromium content present in stainless steel provides resistance to corrosion as well as gives stainless steel its customary appearance. Around 18% of chrome is used in per unit content of stainless steel. Ferrochrome powder is used in the field of powder metallurgy. Ferrochrome slag is a chemically stable substance. It is used in road construction and civil engineering as well as in the production of refractory materials.
Chromium powder can be used to repair and prevent the four pipes of the boiler, and metallurgically distribute the wear-resistant lining of the chute. The use of tubular wire surfacing with Cr3C2 will greatly increase the service life of the grinding roller.

USB
USB (an acronym for Universal Serial Bus) is a standard of communication that is commonly used for transferring data and powering devices. This standard introduced a new type of cable that was developed in the 1990s and has continuously evolved in the decades that followed. In this section, we outline the evolution of the USB cable and describe the types that exist today.
USB types
USB connectors come in several types: the default sizes (USB A, USB B and USB C), Mini USB type A and B and Micro USB A and B.
USB A has an elongated, rectangular form and can carry power and data. The USB A plug is used to provide a downstream connection to controllers or hubs.
USB B is narrower, squarer shaped and commonly used for connecting peripheral devices such as printers and scanners, or as an upstream port for USB hubs. USB B connectors are still in use today but slowly being phased out and replaced with USB C connectors and ports.
USB C is the newest USB interface, launched in 2014. With a narrower, more elongated shape than USB A, USB C has more pins enabling it to transfer a larger amount of power and data. USB typc C cable is currently compatible with Apple MacBooks with Thunderbolt 3 ports, Chromebooks and the most recent laptop models.
USB Mini plugs were designed for use on USB peripheral devices such as older smartphone models or digital cameras While still in use on some devices, USB Mini is now broadly seen as a legacy connector, and not certified as compatible with newer devices.
USB Micro is an even slimmer version of the USB mini-plugs, being better suited to newer models of OTG (on-the-go) devices while enabling the same level of connectivity. USB Micro is now the standard connection type for charging smartphones.
USB versions
USB 1.0 is the original USB standard, where the limit for data transfer is 12Mbps. USB 1.0 was originally designed to connect peripheral devices such as mice, keyboards and game controllers. As the simplicity of the USB connector interface grew in popularity, the USB standard evolved to USB 2.0 in 2000.
USB 2.0 provided a much higher connection speed with a throughput of 480Mbps. The cable is also known as High Speed. The standard length of USB 2.0 passive cables is 5 meters. Active cables, on the other hand, can have a length of up to 20 meters.
The USB 3.0 specification was released in 2008. This type is also known as SuperSpeed, being able to transfer data at a speed up to 5.0Gbps. SuperSpeed USB cables can be told apart with the SS logo and the blue color in the internal part of plugs and port. The standard length for passive cables is 3 meters, while active cables can be up to 20 meters long. The 2nd generation of USB 3.1 can transfer up to 10Gbps of data.
HDMI
HDMI, an acronym for High-Definition Multimedia Interface, is an interface for transmitting digital audio and video data from a source device to a presentation/output device such as a projector or display or digital audio device. The initial HDMI standard HDMI 1.0 was created in 2002 as a collaboration between major technology manufacturers including Panasonic, Phillips, Sony and Toshiba. Since then, this data transmission interface has evolved and improved, and several versions of HDMI are now available. Each new HDMI version has brought about an exponential increase in audio/video capacity, resolution, improved color spaces, and advanced features such as CEC (Consumer Electronics Control), 3D and Ethernet data connection.
HDMI Cable Types
HDMI Standard cables work with resolutions up to 720p and 1080i with bandwidth capacity up to 5 GB/s. It is suitable for HDMI versions 1.0 to 1.2a.
HDMI High-Speed cables work with resolutions of 1080p, as well as 4K@30Hz, 3D, and Deep Color. This type of cable has a bandwidth capacity of up to 10 GB/s. It is recommended to use this type of HDMI cable if you are connecting a 1080p HD display to a 1080p HD content source. It is suitable for HDMI versions 1.3 to 1.4a. With the HDMI 1.4 standard, this cable can also be used for 3D video.
Premium HDMI Cable is a certification that ensures the HDMI has been tested for reliable performance of advanced display technology such as 4K@60Hz, HDR and expanded color range including BT.2020. The bandwidth capacity is 18 Gbps and it is optimized for HDMI version 2.0.
The latest HDMI cable type - the Ultra-High-Speed HDMI cable - is the only one that complies with the specifications required to support the HDMI 2.1 specification. This includes uncompressed 8K@60Hz and 4K@120Hz, and a bandwidth capacity of 48GBps.
Notable HDMI specifications
HDMI 1.4 HDMI 1.4 came out in 2009 and was a significant game-changer in the AV industry. Worthy of mention is the addition of the HDMI Ethernet Channel, which allows HDMI cables to act as ethernet cables, 3D over HDMI, ARC (Audio Return Channel), the HDMI micro connector and 4K@30Hz data transfer speed.
HDMI 2.0 The HDMI 2.0 standard was released in September 2013. With this standard, the HDMI bandwidth was increased to 18 Gb/s, 4K support increased to up to 60Hz, and added support to the 21:9 aspect ratio, mostly used in theatres.
HDMI 2.1 The HDMI 2.1 stand was released in November 2017, adding support to even higher resolutions and refresh rates, now reaching 4k@120Hz and 8K@120Hz. The HDMI 2.1 standard’s features require the Ultra-High-Speed cable to function smoothly. Other features include Dynamic HDR, DSC 1.2 (Display Strem Compression), and enhanced eARC (enhanced Audio Return Channel).
How long should HDMI cables be?
With rooms getting bigger and packed with more and more devices, your AV equipment might not be as close to each other as you would like it to be. You will need to route long enough cables to connect equipment that is located quite far from each other. The electronics industry’s maximum recommendation for HDMI cable length is 50 feet or 15.24m to ensure optimal video and audio quality. Most HDMI cables available on the market reach a maximum of 25 feet or 7.62m, making that length a safe bet
With longer cables, you risk reducing the quality of the signal and experience audio lag and image degradation and screen flashing. To ensure signals with higher resolutions and refresh rates, such as 4K@60Hz, it is recommended that you use shorter cables, active cables (containing a processing chip that ensures the signal travels without loss), fiber optic cables or an HDMI extension over shielded CAT5e/6/7 via HDBaseT.
Tidier cables with Neets Input Panels
In larger rooms or more complex equipment setups, the number of cables and their lengths can quickly escalate, causing issues of safety, performance and pure aesthetics. Safety is a primary concern, as cables trailing on the floor are an obvious tripping hazard. Trailing cables are also exposed to frequently trampling and being run over by office chair wheels, damaging them and reducing the quality of the connection. Finally, trailing cable connections makes the room look messy and unprofessional.
Luckily, there are cable management solutions on the market that can eliminate these problems simultaneously. We’re talking about what are known as wall sockets or plates such as Neets’ own range of Input Panels.
With an input panel installation, you can run your desired length cables through the wall or ceiling, connecting each end to the back of the input panels. The input panels are installed in strategic locations around a room, making it easy to connect different HDMI components and send bi-directional audio and video signals between the components, all the while having a neat and clean look in your meeting room, conference hall, classroom or auditorium.
Perhaps surprisingly, the main reason for buying wireless headphones is not to support the tireless efforts of the Bluetooth Special Interest Group. No, the number one reason for picking up Bluetooth headphones is of course because they’re wireless. Not that I have anything in particular against cables, per se, but the freedom going wireless offers you is unparalleled.
No more tangled headphone cords, no need to take your device with you as you walk around the house, no accidentally yanking your earphone cable out or knocking your phone off the table, no wear and tear, no safety worries with the new breed of the smartphone with no analog port. The first time you head to the gym with a pair of wireless TWS earphone on, I guarantee you’ll become an instant convert.

Ozone Air Purifiers: What to Know Before You Buy |

|
When you hear the word ozone, you probably think of the layer in the sky above us that helps filter out ultraviolet radiation from the sun. But it is also a molecule used in some air purifiers because it effectively reacts with and eliminates strong odors and airborne chemicals. The ozone can naturally turn a bad smell into a good one. But before you buy an air purifier or generator that uses ozone technology – you should understand what you’re considering and know the dangers.
Better Smelling Air with Ozone – But is it Safe?
Ozone is a molecule composed of three atoms of oxygen. It is an unstable molecule that reacts with anything it bumps into. The chemical effectively removes odors and kills mold and mildew because it can react with and break down anything it comes in contact with. Unfortunately, the very thing that makes ozone so effective at removing odors also makes it dangerous. If it is present in high enough concentrations to eliminate bad smells, then it is also reacting with your skin, eyes, lungs, and other exposed areas and causing harm. It has a pleasant smell, but if you can smell it, it reacts with you and can cause long-term damage to your respiratory system.
What are the Side Effects of Ozone Exposure?
If it’s inhaled, ozone reacts with compounds in your body and can harm your lungs. Even small amounts of ozone can cause coughing, shortness of breath, chest pains, and throat irritation. Ozone can inflame and damage your airway, make your lungs more susceptible to infection and aggravate existing breathing and lung conditions. It can even increase asthma attacks and cause Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease or COPD. Everyone is at risk, but anyone with asthma or certain vitamin deficiencies, children or older adults has a greater chance of exposure problems. The longer you are exposed to ozone, the worse the damage to your respiratory system will be.
When Buying an Air Purifier, What do I Need to Look Out for to Avoid Ozone?
Air purifiers are great ways to rid your home of all kinds of airborne particles – everything from mold to pet dander to pollen. You should always look for an air purifier that uses a HEPA filter. HEPA filters take the smallest of particles out of the air and keep them from reproducing. A high-performing purifier can help improve the air quality in your home for you, your family, and your pets.
When looking for an air purifier for your home or office, steer clear of HEPA/ionic air purifiers with built-in ozone-generating devices. These purifiers use electrostatic plates as their primary means of filtration and incorporate ozone to remove odors and freshen the air. If the purifier uses ozone technology, it will often be displayed prominently on the box or in the description. Still, it’s essential to read as much information as you can about the product to ensure you aren’t getting one that uses ozone. Manufacturers will sometimes use words or phrases like “activated oxygen,” “super oxygenated,” or “energized oxygen” in their description to imply healthy oxygen. Still, they are, in essence, just other ways to describe ozone technology.
Alcohol sprayers are a type of automated equipment pioneered in the field of hand disinfection. This smart alcohol sprayer is used most in hospitals where there are the most bacteria and pathogens. In addition, alcohol sprayers are also equipped in places such as schools, food processing facilities, restaurants, etc. The smart alcohol nebulizer is considered an assistive device for the Healthcare industry. Not only that, but they also help us prevent infectious diseases caused by cross-contamination.
Our initial point of contact with germs is often from the hands. Unfortunately, not many people wash or maintain basic hygiene of their hands. Over the time people have started emphasising more and more on maintaining personal cleanliness and hygiene. And the best way to keep viruses and bacteria at bay is, of course, by frequent hand washing. Using an automatic dispenser for this reduces your chances of getting sick in your inevitable daily interactions with people and germs. Hand sanitizer dispenser also is handy in water-scarce areas.
Our spiral ear cleaner is a fat-handled four-inch plastic pick that comes in a handy carrying case with 16 removable spiral tips. Unlike swabs, these detachable grooved heads are made of soft, bendy silicone. They’re designed to slip seamlessly into the ear (up to a point!) and grip the earwax in its place, instead of pushing it deeper into the canal.

When it comes to selecting the right building material for the project at hand, architects have many options. Natural materials like wood, metal and stone may be right when beauty and durability are key. But manmade materials also have their place, particularly when cost and ability to stand up to demanding environments are critical design considerations. Technology has enabled the production of fiber-reinforced plastics (FRP) to provide the characteristics needed to simulate - and often surpass - many of the performance characteristics of traditional materials. Just as durable, frequently stronger and typically more cost effective, lighter, easier to clean and install, FRP machine has solutions for industrial and commercial challenges, particularly those with corrosive environments. This article will serve as a primer on FRP ceiling and wall panels, discussing their properties, how they are made, and their appropriate applications.
FRP
While many plastics are pure plastics, there are also plastic composites. Plastics can be reinforced when additional strength is needed, usually with reinforcing fibers. The combination of plastic and reinforcement produces some of the strongest materials for their weight ever made. An FRP composite is actually a combination of a polymer matrix and a reinforcing agent such as glass, carbon, or aramid (a class of heat-resistant and strong synthetic fibers), so that there is a length to thickness ratio that provides a reinforcing function.
The resin protects the fibers, maintains their alignment, and distributes the loads evenly among them. The FRP sheets panels may also contain fillers, additives and core materials. None of the elements in a composite dissolve or merge completely into each other, but act together to offer benefits ideal for structural applications. The FRP significantly increases the members' load carrying capacity. According to the American Composites Manufacturing Association, FRP composites deliver more strength per unit of weight than most metals and are 1/5th the weight of steel.
Many FRP wall and ceiling panels are made of thermoset plastic, that is, a material that undergoes a
chemical reaction in which it is formed into a solid and cannot be reformed. By reinforcing the plastic matrix, a wide variety of physical strengths and properties can be designed into the FRP composite. Additionally, the type and configuration of the reinforcement can be selected, along with the type of plastic and additives within the matrix. FRP composites can be developed specifically for the performance required versus traditional materials such as wood, metal, ceramics, and the like. A key advantage of FRP is that engineers can design the FRP composite to provide the needed characteristics, and avoid cost penalties of an over-engineered product.
A thermoset FRP wall panel provides a long-term, durable, sanitary finish that meets the rugged performance needed in food processing, health care and storage environments. The primary advantage of the FRP decorative plastic panels is their long-term resolution of these performance needs.
On the other hand, non-reinforced thermoplastic panels such as those made of PVC, PE or PP, or combinations thereof, may be lower in cost but have inferior performance characteristics. Because of their lack of reinforcement, they are particularly difficult to install properly. Both PE- and PP-based panels may be more difficult to use with water-based latex adhesives because of high-surface tension properties. That is, during installation, latex adhesives can tend to "bead" and resist spreading, possibly causing delamination early after installation. The high surface tension, combined with thermal expansion up to three times higher than that of FRP panels, can cause bubbles and bulges in wall panels within weeks of installation. Further, only a small temperature change will result in a relatively large expansion of the non reinforced thermoplastic panels-a property that will cause failure and need for replacement in refrigerated and cooking areas.
The soft surface of the thermoplastics makes them poor performers in cleanability and abrasion. Surface hardness tests show that FRP colored plastic roofing sheets are over three times harder than non-reinforced thermoplastics which tend to stain easily and become difficult to clean. This applies to graffiti, food stains and yellowing and color change. In terms of durability, the thermoplastic panels display only 24 percent of the stiffness provided in FRP panels. While often touted as environmentally friendly, non-reinforced thermoplastics contain a small percentage of recycled plastic. The higher the recycled plastic component, the lower the performance characteristics, and use of recycled content contributes to premature aging and yellowing.
In selecting thermoset FRP panels, which have no recycled plastic at this point, architects should note that they do vary in strength based on the amount of fiberglass reinforcement. Less expensive panels tend to have less reinforcement. The panels are generally utilitarian, rather than aesthetic, and have a tendency to yellow with age, though this can be somewhat offset by use of a special sealant. An installation crew experienced with FRP clear roofing sheets is advisable.

Standing while working, even for just 30 minutes at a time (4 hours a day or more) can have a major impact on your health and body, and it’s not difficult to do if you have the right equipment. Sit-Stand desks, sometimes known as standing desks or height-adjustable desks, are all the rage and make it very easy to change posture throughout the day while working. For example, this one offers easy adjustability of the desktop height and has a swiveling chair that can move out of the way while standing!
Height adjustable desks are becoming increasingly popular in the office. And rightly so: height-adjustable desks allow for an uncomplicated change of working posture, from sitting to standing and back again. The investment in height-adjustable desks pays off as it can avoid preventable back complaints, increases performance, concentration and motivation of employees, and minimizes downtime. The smow furnishing experts have assembled essentials to consider when selecting in a sit-stand desk, and why they are so enormously advantageous for employees and employers.
By nature, the human body functions best when it moves; however, especially in everyday office life, stationary sitting is the predominant position and this all too often leads to stiffening or joint wear and tear. It has long been established that well-adapted, ergonomic office chairs are essential in everyday office life; however, it is also important to regularly stand up in the course of the working day, including for prolonged periods. This does not mean that you should only stand, not only is that not necessarily healthy, but moreover it is not always possible. Much more, frequent changes of position is recommended, changes from which the body and brain profit. The occasional change of position and posture is essential for a lively mind. Some experts recommend sitting for 60 % of the working time, 30 % standing and actively moving during the remaining 10 % of the working day. Regardless of your preferred option it is clear that a healthy combination of sitting, standing and active moving should be encouraged and undertaken.
Standing desk frames have an extremely positive effect on workplace ergonomics - and that without the need for major alterations. Following a quick transition period, you and your employees will realise the many advantages a electric height adjustable desk can bring in so many areas.
If a desk cannot be height-adjusted, and the work process is extremely monotonous, a number of problems can arise: - Dissatisfaction and irritability
- Tensions and chronic bad posture
- Declining quality of work and concentration → inefficiency
- Motivation problems due to monotonous physical stress
- Circulation problems
A monitor stand provides a wealth of benefits to both those who work at desks and PC gamers. From health benefits to staying organized, here are the main advantages of using one.
The first and foremost benefit to using an adjustable monitor arm is the ability to change a monitor’s height, depth and sometimes even its angle. This customization allows a person to position their monitor in the exact spot it needs to be to prevent them from straining their neck and eyes while they use it over an extended period. Ideally, the monitor should be placed directly in the center field of vision, so the viewer does not need to look up or down to see their screen. This direct viewing angle prevents them from developing strain-related neck pain.

Having a brighter and whiter smile doesn’t just improve our appearance—it improves our confidence, too. So it’s no wonder we have so many over-the-counter whitening products beyond just whitening toothpaste. One such product is a teeth whitening pen, which could be added to your oral care routine to enhance the brightness and whiteness of your teeth. Here, we’ll discuss what they are, how to use them, and their effectiveness.
What Is a Teeth Whitening Pen?
Teeth can be stained from colored foods, such as berries, red sauces, coffee, tea, red wine, dark-colored sodas, and cigarettes. Like whitening toothpaste, a teeth whitening pen fights these common stains—but it differs from toothpaste because of its size, portability, and general convenience.
Structurally, they are thin, plastic tubes that house a teeth whitening gel and are designed to be small and portable. These pens can help improve your teeth' color by removing leftover stains on each tooth's surface. These whitening products often produce visible results quickly—sometimes, even after your first round of use.
Teeth whitening pens are ideal if you want to add a last-minute touchup to your teeth’ whiteness, perhaps because you have a special event coming up or want to add some sparkle in a short amount of time. And don’t be ashamed of wanting to brighten up your smile; frustration with teeth color is quite common; according to a 2016 article in Operative Dentistry, over one-third of Americans are dissatisfied with the color of their teeth. So if you’re looking for a quick and simple method for brightening your smile, a teeth whitening pen could be a great option.
Ingredients
So, how do teeth whitening pens work? Like most over-the-counter teeth whitening products, teeth whitening pens typically contain one of two bleaches: hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide. According to the American Dental Association, these tooth bleaches break stains into smaller pieces. That, in turn, makes the stainless concentrated and makes your teeth look brighter. It’s worth noting that, according to a 2016 study in Operative Dentistry, there is no significant difference in these two bleaches’ effectiveness, so a pen containing either bleach should be a good option. If you’re interested in using a teeth whitening pen or are curious about other types of teeth whitening methods, chat with your oral care provider first to discuss the best option for your needs.
Convenience
The main benefit of teeth whitening pens is convenience—unlike teeth whitening mouth trays and teeth whitening strips, a whitening pen is portable and small enough to fit in your pocket or purse so that you can take it on the go. Another benefit of teeth whitening pens is that they’re relatively quick and straightforward to use. While instructions may vary from product to product, the application mainly involves a few seconds of twisting and applying—that’s it!
How Effective Are They?
When it comes to these pens' effectiveness, it really depends on your type of discoloration and the application process. First, not all stains are created equal: these bleaching agents will likely whiten yellow stains but probably won’t whiten brown or grey stains. Also, this whitening method will not work on crowns, veneers, or fillings. It’s also important to closely follow the instructions, as the bleaching agents must remain on your teeth for a certain amount of time for the peroxides to interact with your stain, so you’ll have to avoid eating, rinsing, and drinking after you apply. This can be hard—but stay strong; it’ll be worth it!
That being said, if you’re using your teeth whitening pen correctly on yellowing teeth, you should see quick results. If you’re looking for a more significant boost to your teeth’s brightness, your dentist may have more powerful options, as these over-the-counter products typically contain a less concentrated amount of bleach than you would receive at the dentist’s office. Again—talk to your oral care provider about the best type of teeth whitening method.
How to Use
Instructions will likely have you use it twice daily. Here’s how a teeth whitening pen typically works:
First, start by brushing your teeth with a soft-bristle toothbrush.
After a thorough brushing, remove the top cap of the pen and twist the bottom of the pen until you see the gel on the brush tip.
Then, apply a thin layer of whitening gel to each tooth’s surface, making sure the entire tooth’s surface is in contact with the whitening gel.
Finally, don’t rinse. The product needs to stay on your teeth to work.
Side Effects
Sometimes, you may experience tooth sensitivity due to peroxide in the whitener pushing through your enamel and making contact with dentin, which may irritate your tooth’s nerve. But fear not—because teeth whitening pens have low doses of bleach, this type of sensitivity is typically mild and temporary. But if the sensitivity feels like too much to handle, talk to your dental care provider.
You deserve a whiter and brighter smile, and teeth whitening pens can make it easy to achieve. If quick and convenient teeth whitening kit is your goal, then this might be the right choice for you. To make regular improvements that stay with you, follow the directions of the product you use, and you should be on your way to a brighter, sparkling smile.
Some people prefer to use natural products to remove stains, but most reports of effectiveness are anecdotal at best. However, the evidence does suggest that baking soda can help whiten teeth. A 2017 review concludes that brushing with baking soda-based toothpaste or teeth whitening powder is an effective and safe way to remove stains and whiten teeth.
Did you know that you could have your smile brightened about 5-10 shades in as little as 20 minutes? Not only that, but professional teeth whitening procedures are also needle-free and don’t require the use of a dental drill. Instead, the process is as simple as placing the whitening agent, applying an LED light, and letting it sit.
Sound too good to be true? Well, this is one rare instance where that is not the case. Modern technology has actually made it possible to have a whiter and brighter smile quickly and easily. And, yes, the teeth whitening light does indeed play a role in the accelerated whitening process. However, simply smiling at an LED light will not whiten your teeth. To understand how LED lights play a role in the whitening process, you must first understand the basics of how teeth whitening works.

Pallets
Pallets, be they plastic or wood, are probably the most common item you can find in a warehouse or any factory. A pallet is a flat transport structure that supports goods in a stable manner while being lifted by a machine. It can be lifted by material handling tools: forklift, pallet jack, front loader, work saver, jacking device, cranes etc. It forms the structural base of a unit load which allows handling and storage efficiencies.
Pallets are often placed below goods and containers and are secured with strapping, stretch wrap or shrink wrap and shipped. The modern usage of pallets has superseded older forms of crating like the wooden box and the wooden barrel since its invention in the twentieth century. The widespread use of pallets can be explained by one very practical reason — it works well with modern packaging such as corrugated boxes and intermodal containers commonly used for bulk shipping.
Wood and plastic pallets are common and widespread. Metal pallets, paper pallets and pallets made from recycled materials are less common and have very specific use cases. Each material has advantages and disadvantages.
Plastic Pallet vs. Wood Pallet
Let’s us try to understand why some companies prefer the use of wooden pallets while others prefer the plastic.
Wood Pallets
Many people consider low-cost pallets, which often use softwood, disposable. Logistics companies usually throw them away as trash together with other wrapping parts, at the end of the shipment. These disposable pallets are often simple stringer pallets, and raisable from two sides.
Hardwood block pallets are slightly more complex and costlier to make. As such, the recipient usually sends the pallet back to the sender or pays a deposit is prior to shipment. Otherwise, the pallets are sold after shipment. Hardwood block pallets are able to withstand a heavier load compared to it’s softwood counterpart.
However, wood pallets can pose terrible biological problems as they are vulnerable to chemical and biological contamination, such as growth of bacteria in food and produce transportation, and even pest infestation. Food and produce industries tend to avoid using wooden pallets and instead opt for plastic pallets which they consider a more hygienic alternative.
Wooden pallets are vulnerable to biological risks like bacterial contamination and insect infestation. They can be mitigated by using ISPM 15 certified wooden pallets which have been debarked and then heat treated or fumigated with methyl bromide and then branded with a mark of compliance.
Plastic Pallets
The most viable substitute to the wood pallet is a plastic pallet. They are very durable and light, and about the same price as a wood pallet. In addition, plastic pallet does not require fumigation for export, is half the weight of wood and it satisfies good storage practice for food and pharmaceutical customers.
They are light, tough and extremely durable — lasting for a hundred trips or more. Plastic spill pallets are also resistant to chemicals, corrosion, weathering and rot. They are pest free and able to handle wet environment well.
The dynamic load capacity ranges from 500 kg to 1.5 tons, depending on the design and raw materials used.
Durability & Service Lifespan
Plastic is long lasting and sturdy. This is especially important in the usage of plastic pallets as these must support lots of items of various weights many times.
Plastic pallets are difficult to repair, and can be ten times as pricey as hardwood, hence they are often used by logistics companies who can gain from their toughness and stack-ability. Many large supply chains have ramped up the use of plastic pallets due to the need to reduce costs through waste, transport and health & safety.
Safety, Hygiene & Ease of Transport
Due to the unique physical and chemical characteristics of the plastic pallet it is an ideal choice for airfreight.
Some plastic pallet boxes can collapse from plastic deformation (creep) if used to store heavy loads for long periods. There is no risk of injuries to workers as plastic pallets are light and have no protruding nails or splinters like wood pallets.
Foldable plastic pallet box usually has anti-slip rubber grommets to make the unit load stable and to guard against load shifting by providing a non-skid surface. Also, pallets and dollies can be combined to eliminate pallet teetering, the need for extra lifting equipment. Therefore creating valuable space in busy operating environments and as a result, it saves time and cost by reducing supply chain handling.
Customisability
Companies usually customise plastic pallets to meet their specific shipping needs. Many companies would also mould RFID chips into the pallets to track and monitor the location of their inventory.
Low-cost
Usability is the major reason so many companies are going with heavy duty plastic pallets and many manufacturers have taken advantage of this by creating new designs specifically for each industry. In addition, many low cost options are available on the market now to compare quite favourably with their wooden counterparts. The use of recycled resin makes it even more affordable.
